How it all began
Our story began on 20th May 1987 where we owned a small shop at Bedok, east of Singapore, selling manually marinated and skewered satay. With years of hard work, we have expanded our factories and is now a major manufacturer in Singapore, including a spin-off subsidiary, City Foods Industries Pte Ltd, that makes Halal Certified products.
Over the years, City Satay has evolved its product and production processes to better suit the customer’s need. Inspired by the country’s multicultural spirit, our satay is made with a unique blend of Asian spices. The freshly made marinade flavours and tenderizes the meat, which are skewered on bamboo skewers and then grilled to perfection. Our signature Satay Sauce is made with roasted groundnuts, spices and our traditional shrimp paste (belacan). Painstakingly stirred in woks throughout the cooking process, the sauce packs a bursting aroma and a fragrant spicy flavour.
Our production lines are automated for efficient and effective production of our products. The factories are designed with hygienic facilities and processes to meet ISO 22000 Food Safety Management System standards and requirements. We also emphasize on product innovation and collaborate with institutes of higher learning to develop innovative products that are healthy and suitable for all ages. With these certifications and efforts, customers can be assured of quality and consistent products from us.
We made available our products both offline and online channels. Besides retailing the products at our outlet, our online store, www.citysatay.com as well as partners’ ecommerce platforms provide shopping convenience to all our customers with food delivered to the doorstep. We supply our products to food, hospitality, lifestyle and leisure industries as well as to supermarkets, retailers and food stalls. We also export our satay overseas.
